A gold-plated replica of the Ping S56 4-iron Louis Oosthuizen used to card an albatross in the final round of the Masters will be on permanent display at the company's headquarters.
All of its players have a gold-plated replica of their winning putters put in Ping’s vault in Scottsdale, Ariz., and sometimes even more special additions are put in the vault. A double eagle at the Masters would qualify, so a gold S56 4-iron was added to the vault recently. Oosthuizen also received one for his collection. If I was Louis, I'd hang the gold-plated replica and the original S56 (in the shape of an X) over the mantle in my house with a sign that said, "The Shot Almost Heard 'Round The World". read more Image via PGATour.com Did I miss something? Solid gold would be more impressive. But it looks nice, and a great shot too. 4/26/12
