The Masters & the LPGA?
By mustang6560 on 5/16/12
Michael Whan, the Commissioner of the LPGA, would like to see Augusta National host an LPGA event.
In an interview with Forbes ahead of the Sybase Match Play, Michael was asked about the all-male membership at Augusta National and he provided an interesting answer.
Forbes: Should Augusta National admit female members?I am open to the idea, as long as the tournament doesn't exclude men.

Augusta needs to get the FUCK over themselves, seriously. I like the idea of the LPGA getting a tournament at Augusta National.
@Banker85- Tell me how you really feel...
While I dont agree with the policies of ANGC, I also dont know if I would like to see a LPGA event there. Not that it would not be interesting and great for womens golf, but, and hear me out. One of the special things about the Masters is the allure and grander of the event. I have been lucky (and I do mean LUCKY)enough to attend two practice days a the Masters, and having a LPGA event there would take away the specialness of getting to see the place in person. I know that I am going to take some heat for my views but ANGC is just so special.
I can't picture an LPGA event at Augusta. They would have to play the member's tees and would probably struggle mightily on the greens until they got several years of experience with them.
I'm with Banker! This isn't the 1950's...... and really don't understand Mrcgamble's statement that having the women play there would take away the "specialness" of the event. As far as BKuehn's statement that they would possibly struggle....so what? It might make it more enjoyable :)
Yeah. Why not host a hooters tour event there too? No way. I have to agree that it would take away from the tradition.
