![]() Sergio Garcia Wins Wyndham Championship By mustang6560 on 8/20/12
Sergio Garcia birdied five of his last eight holes en route to his eighth PGA Tour event — his first since the 2008 Players Championship.
Rainy weather left Sergio Garcia stuck in central North Carolina for an extra day. Turns out, it was worth the hassle -- because he's leaving with his first PGA TOUR victory in four years.A friend of mine text me Saturday night to let me know my boy Bud Cauley was in the final pairing with Sergio. I felt good about Bud's chances because Sergio is a very temperamental player, and if he caught a bad break early on in the final round, the Spaniard would crumble and the tournament would be Bud's to win. But, as it turned out, Sergio managed to play some great golf over the Sunday-Monday finish at Sedgefield Country Club. Sergio's won four times on the European Tour since his triumph at TPC Sawgrass in 2008, however, he was in a winless drought on the PGA Tour. It's too bad the finish spilled over into Monday as not nearly as many people were able to watch him win. I hope it doesn't take another 51 months for Sergio to find the winner's circle again. read more Read an interesting golf article? Tip your editor Image via Flickr, TourProGolfClubs [ comments ]
It always comes down to putting. I know a lot of ameteurs who can hit it like the pros, but cannot putt like them (or chip like them either, for that matter). 8/20/12
