Sergio Garcia hires a different caddie for the Barclays

Sergio Garcia may be on to something.
One week after employing local caddie David Faircloth while winning in Greensboro, Garcia will again go through untraditional means by using a CBS spotter named Wayne Richardson on the bag at this week's Barclays tournament.

"That's a good friend of mine," he explained. "He's not a professional caddie, but I don't feel like I need that at the moment. I'm probably just going to do my own thing until the end of the year, and then at the end of the year I'll decide what's best for me."
Too bad Sergio didn't adopt this hire-a-new-caddie-every-week strategy earlier because it seems to be working. Since missing the cut at the PGA Championship and firing his caddie, he's shot five consecutive rounds in the 60s including today's 5-under-par 65 in the first round of the Barclays, which leaves him in a tie for fourth place.

Hopefully Wayne learned from David Faircloth last week and reached an agreement with Sergio in advance as to how much he'll get for his efforts.

I thought it was funny earlier in the week when Sergio mentioned about using local caddies through the end of the year, he was asked if he would use a local at Medinah, and he paused and said maybe not there.
