Birdies for the Brave

It is always a good idea to make financial contributions to people in need, but since 2005, Birdies for the Brave has provided a way for golf enthusiasts to do so while playing various TPC courses around the United States.
Birdies for the Brave is one of PGA Tour Charities' fundraising initiatives to benefit the men and women who are brave enough to serve the United States (and the world) in uniform, often under tough conditions and sacrificing not just their own comfort, but the comfort of their immediate families.
The charitable organizations that Birdies for the Brave supports include, but are not limited to:
A map is available showing which TPC courses will host (or have hosted) Birdies for the Brave events. These include both public and private clubs in the TPC Network, including the Twin Cities, Harding Park in San Francisco, Washington DC, Piper Glen in Charlotte, and the famous TPC Sawgrass Stadium Course (below).
With events scheduled through autumn, now is a good time to visit their web site and look into participating. For you oobers who have already participated in one of these events:

Being a retired Air Force member, I have a very special place in my heart for this! PLEASE support these fine organizations. I was extremely blessed that I did not have to deploy during Desert Storm. The men and women that make the sacrifice every day for our freedom need to be supported. Trust me - our government doesn't do it so it is up to us!!! God bless these men and women!!!

As with bducharm, *this* former Air Force enlisted member would also very much appreciate oobers participating in one of these events, or making a tax-deductible contribution!
