Graeme McDowell: We "have one foot on each team"
By mustang6560 on 10/25/12
If it was up to Graeme McDowell, he'd let the IOC decide which country — Ireland or Great Britain — he and fellow countryman Rory McIlroy should play for in the 2016 Summer Olympics.
North Ireland's Graeme McDowell says the International Olympic Committee should step in to resolve the growing debate over whether he and world No. 1 Rory McIlroy should represent Britain or Ireland at the 2016 Olympics.

. . .

McDowell says he and McIlroy "have one foot on each team" and said the IOC should step in and say "you guys are either playing for Ireland or you're playing for Great Britain."
Unfortunately Graeme, the ICO isn't going to throw you or Rory a lifeline. The organization recognizes your unique and difficult position but wants nothing to do with your decision. And why would it? The IOC doesn't want to be responsible for angering an entire country. So you and Rors will have to put on your big boy pants and decide which country you'd rather NOT piss off yourself.

Keep "one foot on each team" and eventually you will get split right down the middle. Not good.
