Robin Nelson dies at 61

Golf architect Robin Nelson died last week at age 61. After graduating from the University of California-Berkeley in 1973 with a B.A. in Environmental Design, he began working as an understudy of the late architect Robert Muir Graves, then later with Ronald Fream.
Nelson and Neil Haworth co-founded the architecture firm Nelson & Haworth and was voted a full member of the American Society of Golf Course Architects in 1987. Nelson was based at the firm's office in Sausalito, California.
He designed or redesigned courses all over the world, including the United States, Canada, France, Korea, Malaysia, Mynamar (Burma), Taiwan, Thailand, and Viet Nam. Among Nelson's most notable designs are:
