Paula Creamer involved in car crash
By Torleif Sorenson on 2/26/13
LPGA star and 2010 U.S. Women's Open champion Paula Creamer was slightly injured in a multiple-vehicle crash on Sunday. The crash occurred on a freeway en route to the Bangkok airport following the conclusion of the Honda LPGA Thailand tournament. In a series of tweets, Creamer described it as a "high speed 5 car accident," then elaborated:
"I was in the middle car and felt like a ping pong ball. I saw doctors today no concussion, sore shoulder and moderate whiplash."
Creamer's caddie, Colin Cann also felt the brunt:
"Colin has a sore neck and shoulders. We might have to get small bag this week. We were very lucky. Hope to be able to play this week."
Another LPGA star, Okinawa-born Ai Miyazato was apparently also roughed up in the crash, the aftermath of which was captured by Norway's Suzann Petterson. While this incident reminds of Steve Pate's broken ribs suffered in another car crash just before the 1991 Ryder Cup matches, we need to remember that this could have been far worse; fatal crashes happen every day.

Upon further consideration, it is pictures like Pettersen's (above) that make me happy I bought an American minivan, instead of a lightweight roller-skate with four teeny-tiny tires that are barely bigger than the pizzas I make in my own kitchen.

What exactly is she getting a small bag of?

Torleif Sorenson says:
A small golf bag for Colin Cann to carry, rather than a gigantic, bigger-than-a-1974-Cadillac-with-tail-fins tour bag.

Insert obligatory mildly creepy joke about how I'll volunteer to help Paula rehabilitate.

@Duke - I think you are correct about the beef's opinion of Ms. Miyazato. Let me think, what did he post? What did he post? Oh that is right:

"Ai Miyazato Golf Champion Super Number One Yes!!!"

Spaceman is spot-on; I'm grateful that none of them were more seriously injured than they were.

Paula, sweet Paula. Love her. Her beautiful personality alone adds to every tourney she plays. Thankfully, she's okay. I look forward to watching her and all the girls on the LPGA Tour again this season. I think I learn more watching them than I do watching the men. My game is certainly much closer to theirs (yet still, far from their league). Go Paula!
