"Operation Penalty Stroke" seizes $1.4m in cocaine

Thanks to oober Trip for the tip!

Red Maples Golf Course is a public facility in Waymart, Pennsylvania. I've never been there, however, a quick Google search reveals it's a sleepy town located outside of Scranton.

As a public golf course located in a quiet area of northeast Pennsylvania, it's probably safe to assume Red Maples isn't bringing home the bacon on the reg.

So how do (or did) they make ends meet? Peddle drugs, of course!
Twenty people were charged in Waymart Friday for allegedly being part of the multi-county drug ring. The investigation is centered around Red Maples Golf Course outside Waymart.

Red Maples is where police said the $1.4 million worth of cocaine was distributed. The course's owner and 19 other people face serious drug charges.

Suspected drug dealers from Lackawanna, Susquehanna, and Wayne counties were brought in for arraignment in connection with "Operation Penalty Stroke".
The best part about this story is the Attorney General's Office named the sting "Operation Penalty Stroke".

At least it wasn't deer antler spray.

This course was always kept up really nice. The golf carts were always in great shape, the course was manicured, yet it was never, ever busy. Well, I guess they were busy inside the clubhouse. I'm waiting to see if the owner is forced to sell. Anyone want to go in on part ownership for a little 9 hole course?

@Trip... can we re-name it OOB Maples?
Trip says:
@mjaber: Let's change it altogether... How about "oob Country Club", "oob Estates"
