Scuttlebutt: Wozzilroy not in a good place
By mustang6560 on 3/4/13
According to the Irish Independent, the reason Rory McIlroy said he was "not in a good place mentally" after withdrawing from the Honda Classic is because his relationship with Caroline Wozniacki is on the fritz.
Speculation is mounting that Rory McIlroy's meltdown is linked to his romance with tennis star Caroline Wozniacki.
The evidence it cites is pretty conclusive (insert sarcastic tone).
The pair, who are usually very communicative with one another over Twitter, have not publicly conversed on the social networking site for several days.
If the rumor is true, then Rory should have cited "heart burn" as the reason he could no longer continue in the second round instead of a "sore wisdom tooth". It would have been the truth and it is an actual medical issue, which is all the PGA Tour needs to excuse the withdrawal.

As I noted earlier, we'll know more about Rory's walk-off withdrawal tomorrow. Until then, one can only assume the rumors about it will continue to swirl.

Brandel Chamblee called this early on. He said that Rory was displaying behavior that looked as if he was "heartbroken".

It's one thing to be super famous and I can understand why people want that...but to have such a public relationship, putting your romance on display, communicating with your girlfriend on Twitter for everyone to see etc. Why anyone would do that themselves is beyond me, it just seems hellish. When you get to the point in life where you have jerkoffs like myself and Nathan commenting/speculating on your love life, something has gone terribly wrong and maybe it's time to pull back from the spotlight a little. Dang, not too long ago it seemed like young Rory had the world by the nuts, now he seems to be hoisting some major burdens. He is feeling the cost of being a big time famous person it seems.

This is the cycle of our love affair with celebrities. We love the rise to stardom and love to see them fall. When I say we, I mean everyone else...
