Hunter Mahan Withdraws, Brandt Snedeker Wins
By mustang6560 on 7/29/13
If "Husband of the Year" was an award, then Hunter Mahan would be the new favorite to win it.
The five-time PGA Tour winner withdrew from the RBC Canadian Open as the 36-hole leader to be with his wife as she gave birth to the couple's first child, Zoe Olivia Mahan.
With Hunter en route to Texas, Brandt Snedeker carded a 9-under 63 at Glen Abbey Golf Club on moving to jump up the leaderboard. The reigning FedExCup Champion extended his lead Sunday with a 2-under 70 to win his sixth PGA Tour title.

Torleif Sorenson says:
Like Steve Stricker, Hunter Mahan knows when the drop the clubs. I'm sure that nobody of any significance with the Canadian Open is complaining, either.
I feel bad for hunter that the media is making such a circus of this. Honestly, it should be more of a footnote like "hunter mahan withdrawals to be present for the birth of his child. Congratulations there" but its a complete circus. sports outlets are seriously asking the question "did he do the right thing?". REALLY? How is that even a question? I saw on ESPN they said yes because its not a given he would have won anyway. NO its rhe right thing
Because its the birth of his child and golf is just a sport. Where are peoples priorities these days when we're questioning actions that are this clear and downright awesome?
Mahan also withdrew from the WGC-Bridgestone.
