More Time Off For Steve Stricker?
By Torleif Sorenson on 8/1/13
Last month, we told you how 46-year-old Steve Stricker, already playing a reduced schedule this year, decided not to play in the Open Championship, choosing to celebrate his 20th wedding anniversary with his wife Nicki someplace other than Muirfield in Scotland. Now, Stricker will try to play in this week's WGC, next week's PGA Championship, and qualify for the Presidents Cup in October... with an injury.
Stricker suffered a torn right hamstring during a ski trip with his wife during the Open.
"Just a little bit of a freak accident, my right leg kind of went out on me," Stricker told Golf Channel Wednesday. "I got pulled forward and I felt the pop, and I knew I had done something. I'm fortunate really that it’s not a knee issue."The torn hamstring limited the Wisconsin native to a mere nine holes of practice on both Tuesday and Wednesday. It is also worth pointing out that the South Course at Firestone CC is rather hilly.
Let's see which of you oobers is thinking the same question I had when I first saw this story. Speak now...

Okay ... ski trip? Presumably water skiing unless he and the family took a quick jaunt down to Chile or like sloshing around on top of a mountain glacier.
Aren't there places in Colorado where they ski year round?
pretty sure there is a large white mountain in Dustin Johnsons house that can be skied year round.
jason, I think those are two mounds, not a mountain.
I was talking about the one on top of a mirror but good catch forgot about those twin peaks
wish i would have known this before making him a starter in my fantasy league!
and where the hell did this Dustin Johnson rumor come from?
I've heard multiple people say he's a huge coke head.
