Eyes on the prize...
On Thursday at the BMW Championship at Conway Farms outside Chicago, Tiger Woods shot an impressive 5-under 66. He hit 15 greens in regulation and 10 out of 14 fairways.
He's still not happy:
"The greens weren't as fast as they were yesterday, and it was a golf course in which you could be really, really aggressive. I'm not exactly real happy. I played well, and I just didn't get much out of that round. I missed three little short ones in there and then played the par-5s even par."Tiger might have been singing a different tune if Brandt Snedeker had not bested him by three shots. On Thursday, Sneds reeled off seven straight birdies out of eight total to shoot 63.
"It was one of those days where everything seemed to go right in the middle of the round. I knew birdies were going to be important this week, and that's something I typically can do pretty well when I get on a run. I did a great job of doing that today."Yesterday, we told you about how this week represents a "home game" for Luke Donald, who has had a frustrating season. On Thursday, he offset two bogeys with three birdies to shoot a one-under 70, leaving him T-43 heading into today's second round.
