45 is one too few and 47 is one too many
but 46 is just right!
46 Is the Magic Number
By mustang6560 on 10/15/13
In an interview with PGA.com, Jason Dufner, the 2013 PGA champion, revealed one of his golf superstitions -- and no it's not "Dufnering" before a round.
I always hit 46 golf balls for my warm up. I have done that ever since I turned professional."His response is more quirk and less superstition, however, it got us wondering:
Do you have any golf superstitions or quirks like Jason?
Jason, along with Adam Scott ('13 Masters), Justin Rose ('13 U.S. Open), and Padraig Harrington (2007 and '08 Open), is competing in the Grand Slam of Golf, the annual ceremonious off-season event pitting the four reigning major champions against one another.

I think you mean "superstitions"
The photo caption reminds me of Monty Python and the Holy grail.
"First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin. Then shalt thou count to three, no more, no less. Three shall be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the third number, be reached, then lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thy foe, who, being naughty in my sight, shall snuff it. "
When you believe in things you don't understand, then you suffer. Superstition ain't the way.
Torleif Sorenson says:
I'm not superstitious — I'm not even a little bit stitious. In fact, I think it's bad luck to be superstitious.
Why is Phil not playing the Slam?
Since I don't believe in stitions, I guess that makes me substitious.
Gee I wish I hadn't posted that, now I feel like I'm going to have bad luck.
Torleif Sorenson says:
Falcon: Just turn around three times, blow into the north wind, and recite an improvised mantra about Elrey Jeppesen. You'll be fine. :-P
Captain Jepp used to say "Break wind, and head into the ground".....No wait, I think it was..... "Head into the wind and break ground"
Exact numbers like that are important. For instance, a can of beans usually contains no more than two hundred and thirty nine beans. Because if it had just one more , it would be too farty.
I always take 3 practice strokes before I putt, with a couple deep breaths. To get a feel for the stroke (speed) and the breathing is to relax before taking the stroke.
