Paula Creamer is off the market.

Yesterday via Twitter, she announced her engagement to United States Air Force Reserve C-17 transport pilot Derek Heath, a graduate of the United States Air Force Academy. Creamer is 27, Heath is 33. The couple met back in March during the LPGA Tour's Kia Classic.

As reported by Golf Channel's Randall Mell, the couple's fathers flew together in the U.S. Navy and both became commercial pilots. Given the groom-to-be's career and their fathers' careers in aviation, the course at which they met has something of an appropriate name: Aviara Golf Club.

So, how did Heath ask? Well, aviation is his game, so the academy grad stuck with what works for him:

This writer nerd Your correspondent will never be a wedding planner, but given what we know about Paula Creamer's on-course fashion choices, it would not be surprising if pink is one of the prominent colors displayed at the ceremony. We certainly wish Paula and Derek a happy and prosperous marriage and all the best in the future.

They met in March, wow. There's some trail mix in my bag, that is actually older than this relationship. I'm sure they're ready to live out the rest of their earthly lives together though.

Even married, she will still be my favorite on the LPGA Tour. She's a sweetheart. Heath's a lucky guy.

I kind of thought that might be what they did, but I didn't see that mentioned in the article or in the link. Thanks for a good job you are doing. and Merry Christmas to you and yours.

And to you, Falcon! I only wish I had time and money to ride along with you sometime, armed with a really good digital SLR and some long lenses.
