Your Favorite Golf Memory of 2013
By Torleif Sorenson on 12/23/13
It is time again to think back over the past twelve months and pipe in — this time, we want you to tell us you favorite moment or memory in golf of 2013. It can be something you or a friend accomplished, or it can be something that happened in the professional game that you witnessed on television.
At the least, of course, need to have a basic oobgolf.com membership. If you haven't done this yet, get in here! Basic memberships are free, but the Addict accounts offer plenty of extra features.
Pipe in, oobers — what was/is your favorite golf memory / event from these past twelve months?

Playing the Old Course. I will now take everyone through my round, shot by shot. On the opening hole ...
Played my first Tournament. A four man Scramble with a buddy and paired with some great guys from New Mexico. We finished one place out of the money and I thought that was really good all things considered. I had a fantastic time and the whole thing was fun. I would love to do it again this year.
I have two: 1) Broke 80 (76) playing a course for the first time (Stevens Park in Dallas), and 2) Broke 80 (79) at the LSU Golf Course, my "home" course in college.
oober mini golf at captain hooks
Took my 3 year old daughter to the driving range.
My first WorldAm and the oob mini golf challenge for sure.
It would have to be the launch of legitimategolf.com. Shameless plug, but hey it's true. Also I played a tournament for the first time and while that was cool, for some reason I look back more fondly on the weeks leading up to it. My swing was in shambles. Fueled by desperation, I spent a lot of time at the range sweating and swearing. But I made it through! I feel really good about my swing now.
Breaking 90. It took me two years since I set the goal, but I did it. My swing feels great right now. I can't wait for the Spring!
This is easy. Breaking 100 for the first...and by a full six shots, by the way.
Second best was breaking 100 for a second time, just to prove the first wasn't a complete fluke.
When Phil Mickelson fell on his butt @ Pebble Beach.
Duke of Hazards says:
First eagle. Holed out wedge to an elevated green on a par 5. A little anticlimactic as I didn't even know that the ball had gone in the cup until about 8 minutes after I hit the shot and my playing partners had negotiated their way to the green and pulled the pin and heard it rattling around.
I also have 2: 1. Banging the ball around on Congressional(blue). 2. Redeeming myself at Hollow Creek after a triple, triple start to finish under 80.
Mine would be the World Am and meeting the fellow Oobers!

Taking my son out golfing for the first time.

be still my heart.
Breaking my personal best in June with an 83 on a course that I had neither seen nor heard of before.
While playing with good friends, I had my third hole-in-one. "Wow, I think it just went in! It just disappeared!"
