Adam Scott To Include Golf in House Sale
By Torleif Sorenson on 2/5/14
Adam Scott may be very successful on the golf course, but when it comes to real estate, the 33-year-old Aussie apparently still has some learning to do.
He is selling his 10,000 square-foot Mediterranean-style villa on Saadiyat Beach in Abu Dhabi. The asking price is AED 22.9 million, roughly equivalent to A$7 million or US$6.2 million.
And to sweeten the pot, he is throwing in a round of golf to whoever buys the place:
"Whether the round of golf takes place in Abu Dhabi or on one of the courses in America or Australia, Adam will definitely honour the commitment to play," said Andrew Colvill, the head of investment sales at LLJ Property, which is marketing the property.Scott bought the villa in 2008 for roughly the same amount of money; his original idea was to use it as a base while playing the European Tour. The problem is that Scott has never actually lived there; his career path took a dramatic upswing that led him away from spending time in Abu Dhabi. (Slightly.)
Back in December, Scott managed to sell his two-level, luxury apartment in Surfers Paradise, Queensland. In the sale, Scott took a A$1.94 million loss.

Good... then the buyer's digital camera won't wind up in a water hazard. :-P
At 6 mil, I want more than a round of golf with him. I want lifetime private instruction, and a seat on his private jet to wherever he plays, with comp status at all the hotels and courses. Throw that in and I'll go to the bank tomorrow.
DougE don't forget you're getting a 10k sqft house out of it too...so what if it's halfway around the world.
Don't do it Douge. That is a fishy place. They may have done a good job convincing a lot of the western elite like Adam Scott, Tiger, and Rory "Jumeirah" McIlroy that it's a fun, luxury destination but all I keep hearing from the street is what a bizarre and unnatural place the UAE is. Couples prosecuted for holding hands in public, alcohol prohibition, people busted for drugs when all they did was eat a poppy seed bagel. Their environmental and labor practices are sketchy as hell. Then there is the heat dammit. No DougE, you live in the greatest country in the world. We have everything here. No need for Westerners to go seeking out good times in the Middle Eastern desert. It makes no sense whatsoever.
Okay Beef. You talked me into it. I'm not gonna buy it.
Torleif Sorenson says:
Doug, thanks for saying that. I wasn't sure I could sleep tonight...
DougE - two words. Come ooooon!!
