Arnold: Back Issues Could Keep Tiger From Jack's 18
By Torleif Sorenson on 3/20/14
News of Tiger's withdrawal from this week's Arnold Palmer Invitational was one of the topics The Man addressed at a press conference on Wednesday. Specifically, Mr. Palmer was asked if he thought Tiger's back problems could keep Woods from tying or breaking Jack Nicklaus's record of 18 professional major championships.
"These young guys are tough. And if they continue to play as well as they've been playing, it's going to be tough for anybody, including anybody else, whether it be Nicklaus or Tiger or whomever it would be, to continue to win major championships."Palmer discounted Tiger's age (38) as being a "stopping point" in his pursuit of 18 majors.
