The New Golf Digest Cover
By Torleif Sorenson on 5/1/14
Golf Digest is making waves with its cover for the second consecutive month. Last month, they put non-golfer Paulina Gretzky on the cover in a blatant cheesecake pose — for which editor Jerry Tarde was blasted and torched.

This month, the magazine has undergone something of a facelift with a new logo typeface, mimicking something from about 1974. And the cover model is the decidedly less-controversial Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon. The magazine has additional Fallon photos here.

In his article, Kyle Porter suggests that Fallon could be one of the important people in keeping golf in the spotlight at a time, which is important since the U.S. economy remains mired in a deep, seven-year-long recession and golf is losing both participants and courses. The best part is that Fallon is quite enthusiastic about the game, evidenced by his "Roller Golf" match with Cameron Diaz last week.

"Deep, seven-year-long recession?" I think Kyle Porter should read up on economics before he writes about the economy. A single Google search would probably do the trick.
I don't like the new masthead. I lived through the 70s. Once was enough.
