It seems as though virtually everyone who is anyone in golf is in Washington DC this week, with the exception of the new U.S. Women's Open champion. And she's making the rounds in New York City.
Tiger TalksOn Saturday, we told you about Tiger Woods returning to the PGA Tour to host this week's Quicken Loans National at Congressional Country Club in Bethesda, Maryland.
Woods will appear at a press conference at 10:30 a.m. EDT to discuss his return and, undoubtedly, his projected schedule for the remainder of 2014. Hopefully, one reporter will ask him about whether or not his early return is prompted by a desire to play in the Ryder Cup at the end of September.
More talk from the White HouseAs if that isn't enough, members of the U.S. and International teams from the 2013 Presidents Cup will appear at the White House for a photo-op with Barack Obama, himself a famously prolific golfer.
We Willll, We Willll, Wie YouFollowing her major breakthrough at the U.S. Women's Open Championship on Sunday, Michelle Wie is hitting the TV talk show circuit on Tuesday. Here is a "short" list of her agenda today:
All in all, lots of talk today — making us scribes busier than usual.
