Tiger's First Round Back: 74
By Torleif Sorenson on 6/27/14

Tiger Woods returned to the PGA Tour on Thursday and shot a three-over-par 74. Considering he had major back surgery less than four months ago, Woods did well to mix four birdies with seven bogeys and seven pars.
"The hard part was just getting into the rhythm of playing competitively. You play with your buddies all day for cash and stuff, but it's just not the same. It's not the same as tournament golf, different level.

"(Here) adrenaline is rushing and I hit the ball further out here than I do at home. It unfortunately took a while to get the feel for it. That didn't start happening until midway through my front nine.

"I made so many little mistakes, but I played a lot better than the score indicated, which is good."
As we told you on Tuesday, Woods would not have been playing this week if his foundation was not the primary non-profit organization involved. Woods also told reporters that his back felt fine, with no twinges or pain.

Woods has begun his second round at +3; the cut is projected to fall at +2.

Oobers, will he make the weekend?
