Tiger's Magic Touch?
By Torleif Sorenson on 10/14/14
Viraat Badhwar is a New Delhi-born Australian citizen who is a sophomore at Stanford University and a member of the Stanford Cardinal men's golf team. And the weekend he had this past weekend might be too good to be believed. Good thing we have the evidence.
On Saturday, Badhwar met his golf idol, Stanford alum Tiger Woods:
The very next day, Badhwar played at Stanford Golf Course and strong a 59, breaking the old course record of 61, established previously by Badhwar and by Mariah Stackhouse.
What is especially interesting is that his lowest round in collegiate competition this year is a 70.
What IS it with Tiger? Does he have some sort of "magic touch"?
Have you seen an interesting golf story? Tell us about it!

I like how Tiger Woods in 2014 is the poster boy for sucking at golf, and someone like Rickie Fowler is held up as some sort of icon of gritty competitiveness. It really is amusing.
I think it's just more likely that the person who held the course record at 61 just got better and shot a better score. Tiger's touch had nothing to do with it.

Thanks, Matt. Honestly, if anything, perhaps he could have gone lower without the pressure of meeting Tiger. I guess we may never know..
