The Greatest Golf Ever Played
By Kickntrue on 6/8/10
I know the US Open is still a week out- but this video of the last Pebble Beach Open is worth your 7 minutes. Lately- it's hard to remember pre-scandal Tiger, and even more that- tough to remember pre-corporate Tiger... but that guy who changed the landscape of golf... WOW!

I can remember watching this with my dad. I remember where I was during the final round- and the stuff we talked about. I totally agree with the video that it is the point where Tiger went from being an amazing player to sending the realization that he was going to change golf, possibly forever.

Can he do it again? i hope so. someone with that much determination, that is why he is in my opinion the best ever.

Tiger needs to watch that video and remind himself what he is capable of, then find that focus and determination and take it to the course.

Tiger needs to go away until he fixes what he did wrong. He is a horrible representative for Golf. Does anyone have a single shred of morals left. Did anyone see the 18 other players that played better than he did last week? Does anyone see that Tiger is tied for 157th place in Fedex Points. I am so tired that even when he doesn't play well, he owns the spotlight. There are many other players that deserve it regardless of world ranking.

We have morals and what tiger did was and is horrible yet there is grace where we extend forgiveness when we don't deserve it. He has to live with what he did yet also has to grow and heal from his mistake ... Amazing grace even extends to people like Tiger

What is it that people want him to do to make it right? Golf is where it is today because of him and he deserves the attention he gets and everyone that is on the tour today knows it. I know that I wouldn't have picked up the game if it was not for him.

Tiger lost his power advantage a couple years back. Many of the guys are now longer than him. What still made him so dominant was his mental edge and the intimidation factor. Sadly, those may now be gone forever as well.

Now that I have said he is done, he'll likely go out and win at Pebble and St. Andrews.

Go away until he fixes what he did wrong? How is going away from GOLF going to fix what he did wrong TO HIS FAMILY? He has every right in the world to play golf, and his family has every right in the world to not want to deal with him. But we have absolutely NO right to say he shouldn't play golf. What kind of ridiculous world do we live in where people want others to lose their employment opportunities for cheating on their wife?

To build on what bplewis24 said; why should I care whether or not the athlete I'm following is a son-of-a-gun? What Tiger does has no effect on the way I handle myself as a man, nor will it affect the way I interact with my nieces and nephew. As an adult, I can still be intrigued by what made him famous in the first place, his golf game, and separate that from whatever he does outside the ropes.

Why is this so difficult for others?

no insult to women, but when men get married that fire and desire die down. he will never reach that level of focus again. you can see now-a-days he does have that same look. this IS the best golf ever played. not even close.

I agree with @bplewis & @ElGallo. just look at the purse Tiger received for the win & look at it now. it is almost double what it was. Tiger did a stupid thing, but i am not the moral police. he deals with that in his on laundry room. it kills me when people throw rocks in glass houses. everybody does something wrong. the difference is they are as the Rock would say, "a nobody, a nothing, & a peon," so no on cares.

It's not that hard to remember pre-scandal Tiger. Not everyone is so emotionally invested in Tiger Woods' affairs.

Everyone will be talking Tiger again after US Open. Believe he is peaking and will come back to his own. He owes it to himself and all of his fans!!

Tiger is still the greatest golfer on the PGA Tour and until someone else (Phil, Rory, Sergio, Adam, etc, etc, etc) steps up and proves otherwise, we all should enjoy what we get to see him do on the course. Is off course troubles are his own, just as ours are our own. How would you like it if the news stations, trash rags, etc published everything you ever did wrong for the world to see? I just wish all of these people would back off on what he did to his, and I emphasize HIS personal life and acknowledge what he has done for the game of golf. I can almost bet that at least 50% of the people on all of these golf sites are here because of what Tiger has brought to the game, and now they are going to turn on him with their moral judgements. Forgiveness is an extremely powerful thing to give to a person. You Tiger haters should try it some time, instead of being bitter about what he has done to his own life.

Golfdude I totally agree. The enormity of the impact that Tiger has had to the golfing world is unfathomable. I just finished watching the series The Story of Golf on the Golf channel and it ended with the Tiger effect on golf. Every golf company today should be giving him a kick back(a little over the top) but the growth in every aspect of the game since his arrival is once again "Unfathomable"

Just remember when I go own to be a PGA Tour star, all my misdeeds came from a time when I was a young whipper-snapper finding my way through a big, bad scary world. Okay?

Banker85 says:
@3put: I watched that too. It is amazing how much TIGER grew the game of golf. From Equpiment to courses, to how much the other Tour players are making since it is because of him that the purses on the PGA tour have doubled atleast.

3put says:
@banker85: I for one had no idea the impact he has made was so great. It explains a lot of things when it comes to him such as being paid millions to come and play in various tournaments. I enjoy all the coverage he garners and watch him every time he plays, it is only once in a lifetime that someone like him is around.
