Woods Ready for US Open at Congressional
By mustang6560 on 5/4/11
Tiger Woods is a competitor.
Despite an injury to his left knee and Achilles tendon that put a hitch in his giddy-up, the 14-time major winner said in an interview that he'll be ready to play the US Open at Congressional in June.
Tiger even hinted that he may be ready before the US Open. Could we see him at The Players next week? Doubt it. I mean, it's not the fifth major anymore, says Lee Westwood, so what's the point?
Even in an interview that was teed up for him, Tiger still looks uncomfortable on camera. My conclusion is Tiger is just a weird dude. He reminds me of that nerdy kid who wears his hat backwards to try and be cool. Tiger is a great golfer, but I definitely don't think he'll ever be "cool".

Our favorite ice cream is vanilla with sprinkles.
Kurt the Knife says:
"Our favorite ice cream is vanilla with sprinkles."
Also Tiger's taste in women.
Now that's the ol' KtK we all know and love...
Duke of Hazards says:
okay interview except for 'hitch in my giddyup'. no one says that.
Whats wrong with "Hitch in my giddyup"?
Yea he does still kinda have that little uncomfortable-ness about his demeanor, but i think this is the most candid we're ever going to see him. you're right. hes' just a weird dude. I liked his answers this time.
Call me fanboy but its just not a US Open without Woods. He is after all achieved some kind of USGA godhead status--3 jrs, 3 us am's, 3 us opens. its a beautiful thing, destiny fulfilled. When Tiger tees it up at Congressional, forget all those failed marriages, tabloid fodder, public humiliation, etc, even though he's old and possibly washed up now, forget all that noise, because this is Tiger only continuing a tradition he started when he was a boy--contending for our national golf championship. Even though I don't really like the guy Johnny Miller brings the right kind of gravitas for the occasion.
I thought the phrase was "a hitch in my getalong", not "giddyup" but what do I know?
