Fan Saves Michael Bradley's Driver
By mustang6560 on 5/16/11
The best highlight from over the weekend at The Players was not David Toms's clutch putt on 18 to force a playoff, it was not any of the shots on 17. It was the highlight of the fan saving Michael Bradley's driver in the water.
Somehow, after a poor tee shot mind you, Michael Bradley "dropped" his driver into the water behind the tee box several feet below. Oops! I wonder if his reaction was somehow related to his bad shot?
The 2010 British Open winner Louis Oosthuizen attempted to save the club but it was out of reach. I will give Oosthuizen credit, he gave it his all. He was willing to go in head first after the club while the guys held his legs. In comes fan Norman-Gerard Merizzi to save the day. After some clever posturing and good old fashion teamwork, Merizzi managed to get Bradley's driver out of the water without falling in or being attacked by a gator.
Enjoy the video.

That was a rather large gentleman that went after the club. It was great that he was willing and all, but couldn't they have found a kid to go? He'd have been alot easier to pull back up.
Hell, one of the caddies or officials would have been a better bet.
Kurt the Knife says:
shoulda left it there n let the knucklehead who threw it live without it.
I didn't see any of this on Sunday. Did the guy throw it in or accidently drop it?
Yeah, I don't understand this fan's motivation for doing that.
He got a golf glove out of the ordeal!
He claims he "dropped" it, but it was after a bad tee shot. So in reality, it was probably of combination of anger/bad luck.
He DROPPED it, and it BOUNCED into the water.
Just like those pesty balls, take your eyes off them and they run for the sand and water too.
What a great, and hilarious weekend of golf. I still think the Olympic turtle was by far the best part of the week!
I thought that was Ben Crane's new video.
