Yangsta's Paradise

I'm starting to think Tiffany Joh, a.k.a. Notorious J.O.H., may be better suited for a career in the movie biz than in golf.

The LPGA rookie released another hip-hop parody on her YouTube channel called "Yangsta's Paradise", a spoof on Coolio's once cool "Gangsta Paradise". Unlike her "Da Grip" parody, which featured several LPGA players getting down and dirty, "Yangsta's Paradise" is much more thought provoking. Can anyone with more than three syllables in their name win in women's professional golf? Is it a coincidence that Yani Tseng's name has three syllables and she is the best golfer on the planet?

Tiffany's pseudo tribute to Yani is fitting because it does feel like Yani is living a fairy tale this year. The Taiwanese native has absolutely dominated in 2011 winning 10 times around the world, including two majors. And she also picked up the LPGA Player of the Year for the second year in a row. Doesn't that sound like a golfer's paradise to you?

Side note, I need your help deciphering a few of the three syllable names mentioned in the video. I heard Sun Young Yoo, Hee Woo Han, H.K. Seo, I.K. Kim and Jiyai Shin, but I have no idea what "Vicky Minaj" says at :48. Anyone know?

Vicky is listing all the Kims... "Mindy, Mi Hyun, Birdie, Song-Hee, I.K."

Way cooler than the Golf Boys.

I like "Da Grip" better.

Those who are in the know know that Hee Kyung Seo is a golf babe.

1000 points for Mustang Sally for sending me to the CD shelf for the original tune: Pastime Paradise by the incomparable Stevie Wonder.

Of course, the best tunes on that album (Songs in the Key of Life, Motown - 1976) are "Contusion" and the deliciously funky "I Wish," along with "Ngiculela," "As," and "All Day Sucker." Tiffany Joh needs to start listening to some *real* music.

Remember - it's nothing but junk if it ain't got that funk.

And I still like Weird Al Yankovic's "Amish Paradise" better.
