![]() PGA Tour Shot of the Year By mustang6560 on 12/20/11
The PGA Tour released the rest of the top 10 shots of the year and as you probably guessed, Bill Haas' shot from the hazard during the sudden death playoff at the Tour Championship was the "Shot of the Year" (check out numbers 6-10).
Here are the top 5 in descending order:
What do you think of the top five? photo by theseoduke [ comments ] I guess you have to give it to Haas because of the moment and the 10 mil and what not but I liked Stricker's shot, I think it was more difficult. 12/20/11
A shot has to be made on the closing holes of the last day of a tournament. The more important the tournament, the higher the rating in my book. I would swap Stricker & Bradley's spots because of the relative weight of the PGA versus the John Deere. Since Marino's shot did not get him a win, he should go down the list despite the wonderful timing and result. 12/20/11
Man, I forgot about #2, that up and down from Stricker. These guys are good. 12/20/11
Not too impressed with Marino's 3W either. Nice shot but didn't win the tourney with it. My question is: How the hell did Haas' shirt not get soaked hitting out of a water hazard like that? 12/20/11
The thing I liked the most about Haas's shot was that he didn't hem and haw over it. No messing around, taking off the shoes, putting rain gear on, etc. He just took a look, stepped in, and hit it. I'd be curious to hear what Haas and Stricker think about the relative technical difficulty of their shots (setting aside the importance of the tournaments). Guessing that Stricker's was more challenging. 12/20/11
i still think Bubba's driver off the deck should've made the top 5...i know it was extremely low pressure...but it was memorable shot...hole outs are a dime a dozen... 12/20/11
DA Points did have an impediment to go with his shot and tourney, he had to play with Bill Murray the entire time. 12/20/11
