Best Players Without A Green Jacket
By mustang6560 on 4/4/12
Can you name the top 10 best players to never win the Masters?

I am very familiar with the "Best to never win a major" list. But I am not as familiar with the "Best to never win the Masters" list. I recognized the majority of the names on the list but I was surprised who PGATOUR.com listed as number one. I don't want to play spoiler, but I thought the player listed at #2 was going to be listed as #1.

Without specfically naming names from the list, in case others want to try to make a list from memory, I have a problem with several of their selections. I think their choice for #1 and #2 are on the mark. #3 and #4 made my list, too. The rest are debatable.

I'll name my picks then watch. Let's see...Greg Norman, Montie, Ernie Els, Lee Westwood, Luke Donald, Padraig Harrington, Mark Calcavecchia, Curtis Strange, Hale Irwin, & Payne Stewart. I was grasping at straws on a few of these.

Although they do not specify it, the list is comprised of people that actually played in The Masters. So Old Tom Morris, Walter Hagen, etc ... are not listed. Bobby Jones was also left off the list. The likely reason being although he played in the event, he was well past his prime.

#1 couldn't close the deal because he couldn't hook the ball, which is a must at Augusta.
