Tom Watson officially named 2014 U.S. Ryder Cup Captain

Watch Ted Bishop, the president of the PGA of America, officially name Tom Watson as the 2014 U.S. Ryder Cup Captain.

The last time the U.S. side won the Ryder Cup on European sole was 19 years ago. Anyone want to guess who the captain was back then? You guessed it — Young Tom Watson. Can he deliver a much needed victory for the U.S. again? We'll have to wait and see but I like our chances!

Today's Tom Watson hits it higher than you,
and the putts he makes, he gets by on you

Big thank yous go around the world...

BTW, Geddy and Alex are also golf enthusiasts... and they just got voted into the RnR HOF. Way overdue, IMHO.

RUSH references aside, a fitting appointment indeed.

i just find it funny that he probably half heartedly said "yeah," when randomly asked if he'd take the job if they offered it to him... and now he's captain again. i don't think he was even on their radar until that day.

Glad they are trying something new. Trying the same old thing after 20 years of mainly losing didn't make sense.
