Michael Thompson captures first career PGA Tour victory
By mustang6560 on 3/4/13
Michael Thompson held an one-stroke lead over Geoff Ogilvy heading into the 72nd hole of the Honda Classic yesterday. He only needed a par to earn his first PGA Tour victory, but the University of Alabama product managed to birdie the final hole of the Bear Trap to post a two-stroke victory.
With the victory, Michael earned a two-year exemption on the PGA Tour plus a spot in the WGC-Cadillac Championship this week along with the other two WGC events of the year, an invitation to The Masters next month, a spot in the PGA Championship in August, and a spot in the Hyundai Tournament of Champions next January.

Kind of hit the jackpot as far as invites to top level events. He beat a great field for his first win.
