The Hellacious Hovering Hypothesis, Golf Channel Corollary
By Torleif Sorenson on 3/21/13
From the "Fail, Try Again" Department: This week at Arnold Palmer's tournament in Orlando, Golf Channel is testing Hoverfly, an unmanned helicopter capable of carrying a remote-controlled camera. Golf Channel quotes USA Today as saying that NBC Sports Network has used Hoverfly on their TV show "Ultimate Fishing Experience."

I don't see how this it is possible to catch fish with the Hoverfly hovering overhead, given the unholy cacophony created by this caterwauling contraption. If the U.S. Department of Defense and their contractors ever release quiet-flight / stealth technology for this application, THEN they will have something special.

Until then, however, if I were asked to play golf with this thing over my head, my reaction would be summed up in four words:

Surface-to-air missile.
