Old Lady Drives Car Into Bunker During U.S. Open Qualifying
By mustang6560 on 5/10/13
The Players Championship and Vijay Singh's lawsuit against the PGA Tour have dominated the headlines this week. And rightfully so — The Players is considered by some to be the "5th Major" and Vijay's lawsuit is a terrible attempt at a publicity stunt. But one of the fringe stories is Local Qualifying for the U.S. Open is underway across the country.
A couple of the U.S. Open-hopefuls playing at The Club at Emerald Hills yesterday saw an unusual sight — a car on the golf course. It appears an elder lady got lost and ended up in the bunker on the par-4 11th. Yikes! There are no roads leading to the 11th hole, so the older woman driving the car was really lost. I wonder if she was using Apple maps to navigate?

Torleif Sorenson says:
The authorities should investigate to see if it's "Babushka Lady," missing for 49½ years.
OK people... smart phones have been out now for years... turn the damn thing on it's side!!!!!!!
Kurt the Knife says:
I drive in the bunkers all the time.
I thought the USGA has a pretty strict policy on smart phone use during a USGA competition. The player using the phone should get a DQ!
I now side w/ the USGA in their fight to not allow Casey Martin to use a cart.
Look what it has turned into.
If you look at google earth, there actually is a road just to the west of the 11th tee.
haha the guy at the end says "whats the ruling on this?"
hm, section 4 of article 5 of the rules of golf: Old Lady driving car in bunker = 2 stroke penalty!
Matt F says:
Some people should have their license taken away at a certain age.
Always wonder why someone would be filming this car since it began when she was on the pavement....and we wonder why there is slow play in golf
I hope she raked it afterwards.
