Get To Know Muirfield: Holes 1-3
By mustang6560 on 7/10/13
The Open Championship, the oldest major championship in golf, returns to Muirfield next week for the first time since 2002. As the defending champion, Ernie Els gets to return to Scotland and the site of his first Open Championship victory, which is a pretty cool storyline.
In 2002, I was still in high school, so I was busy doing sophomoric things and not paying attention to The Open, which is why I'm not familiar with Muirfield. In case you're like me, it's time to get to know all 18 holes — starting with holes 1-3. Over the next few days, I'm going to post videos of each hole, courtesy of Golf Monthly.
If you're familiar with the course or any of the 15 Opens its hosted in the past, feel free to share your thoughts and opinions. Or, if you simply love golf's oldest major, comment away!
Hole 1, Par 4, 447 Yards
Hole 2, Par 4, 364 Yards
Hole 3, Par 4, 377 Yards
