Kevin Streelman's Tree Shot
By Torleif Sorenson on 8/1/14
An old adage in the game of golf is that you cannot win a tournament on the first day, but you sure can lose one. And while we refuse to criticize Kevin Streelman, twice a winner on the PGA Tour and a gentleman of exceptionally strong character, we will not be surprised if he is unable to win this week's World Golf Championships-Bridgestone Invitational.
"Streels" registered two double-bogeys and six bogeys on Thursday, on his way to an eight-over-par 78. But what made his first bogey of the day (at the par-4 third hole) so bizarre was where his tee-shot wound up.
In this, the bark was as bad as the bite — out of his scorecard.

About 25 years ago I hit a shot that became stuck in a fir tree. Less than 2 weeks later I did the same thing at another course. Hasn't happened to me since (knock on wood).
I don't like that drop.
