Delusional Driver Terrorizes Golfers in Pittsburgh
By Torleif Sorenson on 10/10/14
Jacari Hicks might be spending quite a bit of time in jail. At least that is what Pittsburgh-area golfers, police, and Grand View Golf Club general manager Tom Beeler hope.
The 33-year-old Hicks was caught driving a white Chevrolet Tahoe over the course at speeds estimated at 60 to 70 m.p.h. on Wednesday afternoon. After he crashed the vehicle in front of eyewitnesses on the course, Hicks was taken first to McKeesport Hospital for a blood draw, then to the Allegheny County Jail. Police said Hicks was under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of the crime.
Police say that Hicks is charged with ten offenses and are already saying that he will be responsible for paying for the damage at Grand View GC. The club says the damage Hicks has caused is estimated at US$ 40,000.
Hicks nearly struck several golfers and course employees before crashing the vehicle.
