oob dinner out!
Hey Nathan, How's Work?
By Kickntrue on 9/2/10
It looks like Nathan is trying to have fun at my expense. Let's compare weeks!
Nathan: Spends 9 hours in front of a computer doing his job which consists of... staring at a computer for 9 hours. Fun...!
Andrew: 18 holes of competitive golf in sunny Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Beer drinking BEFORE 5pm and free food and drinking all night at the world's largest 19th hole.
Nathan: Another 9 hours of work. Face does have a bit of a glow from the computer screen that he can possibly pass of as a tan. Spent night eating McDonald's and dreaming about playing golf.
Andrew: Played 18 holes of competitive golf. Moves into 5th place in flight and feels like he can someday be a pro golfer. Spent evening meeting 7 other oobers here at the World Am at an amazing restaurant called Umberto's (Little River, SC) where an oober is the head chef. He hooked us up with a discount and bunch of free food that left us absolutely stuffed. Awesome night- finished off with a Tosh.O marathon on Comedy Central before falling into a deep and peaceful sleep.
Nathan: Has one moment of fun at Andrew's expense. Spends rest of 9 hours in front a computer editing database and copywriting docs.
Andrew: Spends day playing 18 holes of competitive golf that, yes, does include a 11. Also included was 17 other holes of golf, in the middle of the day, while working. Low-key evening that includes another trip to the Largest 19th hole in the world. Met Dave Pelz. Had free food from Hooters and Ruby Tuesday and free top-shelf liquor courtesy of the World Am.
Nathan: Hard to say. Clearly spent 15 minutes writing a post for oobgolf, so I guess that leaves 8 hours and 45 minutes staring at a computer screen. His girlfriend calls and asks how I did today!!
Andrew Shoots an 86 (including a terrible lost ball penalty for a ball I found embedded seconds after putting my new ball into play). So ya- another 18 holes of golf while working. Has a good chance of sneaking back into the top 5 that includes a trophy (fingers crossed). Directly following my post here- I'm going for free hors d'oeuvres and then down to the beach to see 12-15 waves from Hurricane Earl. After that- to the 19th hole to meet David Feherty, drink for free, eat for free and then go mini-golfing.
So ya... Nathan, how's your week going?
Also worth checking out...

Dude; you suck... get a real job! and GIVE ME YOURS...
@TeT- it's not just my week. 8 other oobers (that we know of) are enjoying the same good time as me with all the same perks. Next year's World Am should RULE. We just all need to start saving now.
Hahaha. i have a real job, and i'm here. I just got paid today too. Nice to get a paycheck when you're off for 10 dyas and playing golf over 4 of them. :)
Where is next year, more importantly where is 2013? (the year I am shooting for)
i figure save $100 bucks a month starting in september through july 2011 and i would have $1100 for the trip... that should cover it right? i am serious as a herat attack.
by the way that was just mean Andrew.
@Kickntrue- LOL. Glad to see you got your score down today AND had time to post your results. See you Tuesday!
Nathan - I smell something burning... Pretty sure he's got ya, all the way around.
Is there any proof that Nathan was actually working, or at least staring at his computer? How do you know he didn't just head out to the course and not post his scores? Maybe oob paid for his golf, and you guys won't find out until the statement arrives...
I'm in for next year. My job consists of fund-raising through golf events so playing in one shouldn't be that hard to stomach.
@mjaber- pretty confident that didn't happen. haha.
@Kickntrue... Only reason I brought it up is because that's what I would have done :)
Well hell while they were eating on Tuesday, I was toiling over a hot stove so Andrew, Xris, and Kevin could get the nourishment for the Tosh.O marathon.
@banker - depending what your travel costs are, that should cover it.
Tha Clint says:
@banker $1100 yeah that should work... for the first day, but what about the rest of the week lol
$1100.00 would just about cover my first night bar bill.
