World Am Is Almost Here
By mustang6560 on 8/23/11
The Golf.com World Amateur Handicap Championship is now officially less than a week away and I can't tell you how excited I am to be able to attend this year!
The World Am released the course assignments yesterday to give everyone ample time to get ready for the action. Andrew and I are playing together in the 10th flight of the Men's 49 and under Division so we'll be playing:
If you're not attending this year (shame on you!), don't worry, we'll fill you in on all the fun we're having. But to help pass the time between now and next week, here are some links to the highlights from last year. You can also click the "World Am" link in the right hand navigation to read all of last year's coverage.

Have fun you lucky SOB's
I have a valid reason for not going. My daughter's 1st birthday party is Saturday. Once she is old enough to play, or at least enjoy Myrtle Beach, I'm going to convince the wife (shouldn't be too hard) that we need to do an annual birthday vacation trip.
The fianée and i are flying in on saturday (hopefully) and registering saturday night. If anybody is in town then and wants to get a drink or something hit me up, i may just be down.

Dang, mentioned it to the wifey in passing and now its like she's determined that we go next year.
If I don't get tickets in the Ryder Cup lottery next year, I'm totally going there!
My friend and I are supposed to leave for the World Am tomorrow. As of right now it is still up in the air. We both live in the Vriginia Beach area and are concerned with not being home with our families when Irene rolls through this weekend.
I've been optimistic about the whole Irene thing. It has been shifting east like crazy. Earl was supposed to hit last year and we didn't see a thing. Looked cool on the horizon from the top floor of the hotel though.
World Am just released an email today with a link to the Weather Center.
Knock on wood (tap, tap, tap), the revised path shows Irene heading more north than west. So from the looks of it, MB will get some rain Saturday but that hopefully should be it.
I just need it to be east of the Outer Banks and Virginia Beach for me (family) to be in the clear.
It's just going to soften up the greens a bit- so I can start throwing DARTS!
AIS in 6 hours!!!
Can't wait to get down there.
