Your missing out on some cool charts...
Billy Minson a.k.a. bminson
Our golfer of the week is going back to school but don't confuse him with Billy Madison. Billy Minson has a degree and success online- he's just going back for more! Oh- and he plays golf, pretty well, too.

How old are you and what's your occupation?
I'm 32, I was self employed with an online business but, I just quit that to go back to school for a second degree so I'm waiting tables at a restaurant again.

When did you start playing golf and what's your handicap?
I started playing when I was 18 years old, and oobgolf says my handicap is 8.4.

How often do you play?
If I don't get out about once a week I'm a cranky bastard.

Tell me about a great shot you've made.
I was on the 3rd hole of Balboa Municipal in San Diego a par 4 my drive had gone in the trees on the right side of the fairway. The spot where I ended up left me no options, I couldn't chip left to the fairway or, hit a stinger under the branches the only shot was through this perfect three foot hole in the trees toward the green. I choose a 9 iron and choked down on the grip took the swing and hit the hole in the trees I got down to my knees to see the green under the branches the ball hit the green bounced once and in for my first eagle. I wish I could bottle that feeling.

What is your best golf memory?
It had been about 5 years since me and my dad had played and he was out on vacation in Vegas. I drove out to see him and we played Boulder Creek in Boulder City. That was the first round I ever broke into the 70's my score was 78 I bogied the last two when I realized that I was going to shoot in the 70's, never count your score tell your done, it'll mess with you. It was really great to shoot that score and to have done it with my dad there.

What is one aspect of your golf game you would like to improve on in the next year?

Tell me a story.
I had just moved to San Diego after finishing college for the summer and had always been a surfer before on the east coast.Me and a buddy were golfing one day for free on a hook up we were piss poor broke barely making rent. On the 19th hole with a beer going over our round and talking about the cold winter water aproaching and us not being able to get a wetsuit, this guy overheard our conversation turns around and tells us "I want to do you guys a favor". We felt a little scared not knowing what "favor" meant he got my friends phone number and said he would call, well he did and we met him in front of this surf shop guy says to wait outside he goes in and when he came out he hands us two envelopes and says have fun this winter and split. When he left we opened them and he gave both of us a 1,000 dollar gift certificate each. I never even got to thank the guy but thanks guy which I don't know the new board and suit worked great your the coolest golfer I ever met.
