Michael at the Great Wall of China.
Your missing out on some cool charts...
Michael Pierre a.k.a. aloha1906
At oobgolf we love to celebrate the game of golf and its addicted souls regardless of their handicap. I wanted to bring Golfer of the Week out of retirement for Michael Pierre. He's not the next Tiger Woods, but the passion is there.

How old are you and what's your occupation?
I am 36 years. My job is business consulting & strategy.

When did you start playing golf and what's your handicap?
My golf affair started in 2001. The relationship grows stronger each year. My unofficial handicap is 29. I played only 5 rounds last year. A relocation and new projects killed me. I am working on getting back to a round or two a week.

How often do you play?
1-2 times a week depending when possible.

Tell me about a great shot you've made.
My first birdie. I was playing the back 9 at Royal St. Kitts Golf Club. Nice and easy round. We get to this hole that has a massive drop. We check the wind cause we are right on the shoreline and make a go of it. My dumb luck got me within inches of the hole for a tweet-tweet.

What is your best golf memory?
Playing a round of golf with a couple NE Patriots.

What is your "home" course?
I don't have a "home" course right now.

What ball do you play?
Wilson usually. Nothing special.

Hogan Apex Irons, Steel shaft, Stiff flex

Favorite pro?
Don't have one. Woods can be exciting. Watching Mickelson is painful. Vijay doesn't do it for me anymore. I have read about Hogan.

Favorite course you've played?
Royal St. Kitts Golf Club. Great view, never busy. Damn hot midday.

Dream course you've yet to play?
Nothing stands out right now.

Best round ever- and what course?
Grand Oakes Golf Club. My first round at a private course. I did ok. I was just in awe at the time.

What is one aspect of your golf game you would like to improve on in the next year?
Accuracy on my drive. My short game is on. No problem with my putt. When I started out, I used my buddy's hand-me-down Fuzzy Zoeller driver with a steel shaft. I was consistently hitting 240-250 yds straight. No hook or draw. My buddy borrowed back his set *and* the driver after I bought my Hogans. It forced me to get a driver. After taking my first lesson, I was persuaded to get a Taylor Made with a graphite shaft. It took me a while to "manage" it, but when I don't play consistently, I struggle between swinging my steel shaft irons and my graphite shaft driver. Maybe I'll get lucky at a garage sale and find some "inferior" equipment.

Tell me a story.
Playing a round of golf with some of the New England Patriots. I was in a foursome with two anchors of the defensive team. I would never have thought a linebacker would play so well. I had a great time and hit it off well with one of them. We planned on getting together for a few more rounds. Unfortunately one of the players was traded. Maybe he played too much golf... We had a great time and I wish him well.

I enjoy the GOW. You need to draft someone every week.

How earthy is this guy? Takes the game casually, as it's meant to be taken. Profoundly comprehensible, does not abuse the language, gets his point across. He should be doing network commentary. Where'd you find him?
