Your missing out on some cool charts...
Tom Kellander a.k.a. tkelland
How old are you and what's your occupation?
20 and a projectionist at a movie theatre in my hometown and working on building a woodworking business.
When did you start playing golf and what's your handicap?
I began playing golf in the spring of 2007. Roughly a 20 handicap. However, it is consistently improving monthly, almost.
How often do you play?
Anywhere from 9 holes a week to 54 holes a week.
Tell me about a great shot you've made.
Great shots.. a couple of chip-ins I've had. Memorable - was one of the first times I played and I miss-hit a 7 iron on a par 3 and hit a tree, it rolled back onto the green and ended about 3 feet from the pin. I was so surprised that I ended up 2 putting it for par, sadly.
What is your best golf memory?
First time I played on a regulation course. Driving up the lane, I felt really small and like I didn't fit in. By the end of the round, I realized I was just like everyone else at the clubhouse that day. A golfer trying to enjoy a wonderful game.
What is your "home" course?
Belles Springs Golf Course in Mackeyville, Pa. Roughly 40 minutes from Penn State University.
What ball do you play?
Slazenger Raw Distance.
Started with a Golden Bear set (first set, wasn't sure I was going to get as into it as I have) and have slowly upgraded. TaylorMade Sienna 4 putter 33". TaylorMade r5 dual tp draw driver. The rest of the set is still stock. 3 and 4 hybrid's. 5-pw and sw. and 3 and 5 wood. I Really love the feel of the 3 and 5 woods for them being starter clubs.
Numerous players for different reasons. Sergio and Phil (striking and wedges, respectively). But I really enjoy watching Brandt Snedeker and Justin Rose, for their attitudes and shot making ability.
Favorite course you've played?
I really enjoy playing Iron Masters Country Club in Roaring Spring, Pa.
Dream course you've yet to play?
I would love to play Oakmont Country Club in Pittsburgh, or Carnoustie. That course is just beautiful in all of it's blustery dreary conditions.
Best round ever- and what course?
I shot a 44 earlier this year at Belles Springs Golf Course. On the front nine, that is. However, some of those strokes could have been shaved. I played what could have been a 39 or 40.
What is one aspect of your golf game you would like to improve on in the next year?
I've recently acquired a new driver and I'm finding more fairways. So, my guess would be long irons and hybrid clubs to greens.
Tell me a story.
Rather than telling a story, I'll leave you with a question. Does anyone ever actually hit into the first fairway? I'm not convinced that a fairway is needed for number 1; just a big field of rough. Haha!
