Your missing out on some cool charts...
Chris Embardino a.k.a. birdieXris
I don't know what it is that all of our GoW's come from Pennsylvania. What are the rest of you guys doing? If you'd like to step it up and represent your state by being our Golfer of The Week- email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. For now- enjoy another man from our number two state!
How old are you and what's your occupation?
I'm 27 years old and i work as a Photoshop artist for The Shadowlight Group, a commercial photo studio in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. I also have a freelance photo business shooting bars, events, weddings, bands and models --- so yea, if you know any outings who need photo coverage.... email@example.com. Shameless business plug, but greens fees don't pay themselves hahaha!
When did you start playing golf and what's your handicap?
I started actually playing when i was 6 years old, though I picked up my first club when I was 5. My Grandfather cut down one of his 5 woods for me and taught me how to swing. My first shot was a rocket that went through the front sun-room window, strait through and out the back-side window. He was proud. haha. That sparked a ilfe-long love of golf, yet with all that, I never knew about competitive golf outside of the PGA on TV. Our high school didn't even have a golf team until pop suggested I ask to start one. I think, if I knew about the Amateur tours and such, I think I would have started taking it more seriously earlier. Right now I'm a 7.2 index. Check back at the end of the season. I'm shooting for 4.
How often do you play?
I try to play no less than once a week. Often times I play as much as I can afford. 9 holes after work, 18/36 on weekends, Scrambles, tournaments, minigolf... I may be addicted. I've already photographed a course or 2 in exchange for 9 holes. haha.
Tell me about a great shot you've made.
I was playing the Lehigh Valley Junior tour back in the day and we were playing the "executive" course at Bethlehem Golf course. I holed a 9 iron from the fairway on #2 for eagle. That was my first big tournament shot.
What is your best golf memory?
I would have to say it's a tie between every memory I can muster of playing with my grandfather Joe Castronuova. He taught me everything I know about the game and was my first ever golf buddy. We had a lot of good times. He passed away of Cancer before he could see me really do anything like playing for the highschool and whatnot.
What is your "home" course?
Crossgates Golf Course in Lancaster, PA. I'd say it's the best public course within 100 miles.
What ball do you play?
Right now I play the Bridgestone Tour B330-S.
Driver: Srixon W-506, Fairway - Nickent 4dx 3wood, Nickent 3DX 3IW, Irons: Cobra Carbon CB, Srixon WG-504 Wedges, Odyssey 2ball putter.
It's been Greg Norman, ever since I started watching golf with Gramps when I as little. I've always had a thing for sharks and pop says to me "they call that guy the Shark". I guess that's all it took. I have a sweet autograph on a Norman cap too. I met him in Uniontown, Pa at a pro-am.
Favorite course you've played?
That's a toughie... I don't get to travel and play all the TPC's that other avid golfers do, but there's a new course in my hometown of Easton --- The Club at Morgan Hill... that's pretty sweet.
Dream course you've yet to play?
As with any golfer in their right mind -- St. Andrews --- but sooner than that I'd like to play Torrey Pines. There's a Myrtle Beach vacation somewhere in there too.
Best round ever- and what course?
73 - Bethlehem Municipal Golf Course
What is one aspect of your golf game you would like to improve on in the next year?
Definitely putting. If I could only start burying those 10-15 footers consistently......
Tell me a story.
There's so many stories and so little time. I would just like to mention and thank my mother, Bess and my late grandfather Joe again. Without them, I wouldn't have even known about the game or come as far as I have.

Beautiful picture! I just got engaged, you wanna drive to Tennessee and do the Engagement and Wedding Pictures?haha Very Nice work though
Haha- I'm sure he'd "want" to drive if the price was right. Send him an email.
Hahaha. Sorry drew, i don't do weddings anymore. too much stress, too many bridezillas. Plus everybody thinks they're a photographer and there's nothing like 50 people following you around with their cameras taking flash photos while you're trying to get the shot. I stick to event, sports, and model photography these days.
Can't wait till thursday though. i'm so amp'd. Anybody else heading to Tanglewood for the LANCO Open? I'm going to "live score" my round. Already got the OK from Jerry.
