I don't see the clubs...?
Your missing out on some cool charts...
Jess McPhillips a.k.a. falcon50driver
This is almost 2 years old- but from back when we were only getting 100 readers a day. I wanted to give one of our most active users another day in the sun.

He's our most active golfer (76 Rounds) and finally our Golfer of the Week! He also wants you to know he is Employee of the Month for his company (of course he IS the only employee).

How old are you and what's your occupation?
Age 60.....Learjet,Westwind,Citation, and Merlin Pilot (driver)

When did you start playing golf and what's your handicap?
Started about 2001 and have a 14 handicap at the local course. Oob has me at 14.3 or so.
12.8 actually. Jess is playing some great golf lately

How often do you play?
I try to play the local dogfight every Wednesday that I am at home, and whatever course is available when I am on the road.

What is your best golf memory?
The hole in one at Black Mesa in Santa Fe, or Playing Shadow Creek in Vegas with the boss, or The Four Seasons Nevis..?????

What is your "home" course?
Babe Didrikson Zaharias Memorial Golf Course, in Port Arthur, Texas.

What ball do you play?
Wal Mart has "experienced" Titleist dt solos for $9.00 a dozen, I'm hooked on them. The boss gave me a dozen Pro V ones when we played Shadow Creek and I still haven't used them all.

Wilson Deep Red II 7 degree driver, Tight Lies 3,5,7 Woods, KZG
6,7,8,9,P...Zebra putter....These 10 clubs fit in a 5" diameter Sunday Bag.... good for traveling

Favorite pro?
Phil and his wife spoke to me in an elevator in Dallas one year, at the Byron Nelson Classic, so I have been a huge fan ever since, Really nice people.

Favorite course you've played?
Four Seasons Nevis

Dream course you've yet to play?
Really haven't thought about it, there are so many great courses......One goal is to play all the courses in Cabo San Lucas.

Best round ever- and what course?
The only time I ever broke 80 was the 76 at The Babe. I was in such a ZONE that I figured I had learned how to play golf.....it was so easy...The next time out I shot 91....the closest I've gotten again is an 80.

What is one aspect of your golf game you would like to improve on in the next year?
I wish I had a 50 yard shot that I could get closer than 15 feet, or could make a 3 foot putt....I've missed making pars from 3 feet more than from 10 ft.and longer.

Anything additional you want to add?
You guys have the most entertaining thing on the web........I'm just wondering when we are going to have to start paying for it..... count me in.

(Just as an FYI- since M2D brought it up. We plan on staying FREE forever! There could be additional features down the line that require a small fee from those who choose to use them- to cover cost, but keeping your handicap and stat tracking on oobgolf.com will ALWAYS be free!)

Traveling around playing some nice courses... How will you ever top that in retirement?

Let's just say that I am jealous for several reasons. First you fly for a living. I've been playing golf for 18 years and haven't broken 80, and you've already conquered a Vegas course.
falcon50driver says:
Conquer, is not exactly the way it went out there at Shadow Creek, I did, however, enjoy it a lot. I was only able to play there because the boss invited me. I understand it normally costs more than $25.
Kickntrue says:
$25?! Next time you fly in around Washington DC, give me a call. That's my kind of golf budget!
TaylorFade says:
I remember when I joined you had like 135 rounds and I was like, "Geez, I'll never have 135 rounds." I have two golf goals- shoot a round under par and to catch Merlin in rounds played.

I'm gonna get you Sucka!
ToddRobb says:
merlin congratulations on GOTW! Looks like you should consider updating your sticks:) That 7 degree driver has got to be killing your distance off the tee.
TaylorFade says:
These are probably his answers from 2 years ago. I'm sure he's upgraded since then because he didn't even mention his ace that won him a new Mustang.

I swear I'm gonna make a road trip to Port Arthur to play "The Babe."

You guys are too nice, thanks. I really have enjoyed the banter on this site and the friendly nature of everyone here. I'm a little embarassed that Kevin ran this thing again. Yes a lot of stuff has changed. You guys need to let them do a GOW on you, it's relatively painless. It's one of my favorite parts of the site.
ToddRobb says:
HOLY CRAP!!! You won a Mustang??? Sweeeet!!!
