Your missing out on some cool charts...
Mark Wu a.k.a. markwu2
How old are you and what's your occupation?
28, Work for GE as an IT Team Leader implementing Oracle ERP.
When did you start playing golf and what's your handicap?
Started when I was 12, hitting golf balls in the park behind my house with an 8-iron. But after running away from a few roof strikes, I got smart to using wiffle golf balls at home, which only get stuck in gutters. At least it made rainy days fun back in Chicago, when all those lost balls would suddenly reappear :). I've been working on my game aggressively the last 2 years and have dropped my handicap from 8 to ~ scratch.
How often do you play?
The summers in Louisville are fantastic - GE had the city re-wire itself to the EST time zone, so the sun doesn't set here until 930-945 pm in the summer. Easy to get a round in after work. Summer play: 54+ holes a week. Non summer play: ~18 holes a week.
Tell me about a great shot you've made.
I've figured out how to hit a really consistent low/ punch shot, which is perfect now for the windy weather coming in. One of the last great shots was a punched 4-iron at Valhalla's 16th hole, perfectly placed, got a little lucky, and led to finishing the last 3 holes 2-under. It was my first time out and what a great feeling to finish strong. I try to catalog every shot in a round in the comments section - check it out: http://www.oobgolf.com/golfers/score.php?id=659808
What is your best golf memory?
Definitely high-school golf - loved playing every day at 230 pm. More specifically at one of our tournaments, I remember our asst. coach, who was like 65, inhale a hot dog in about 2.3 bites. It was perhaps the most ridiculous thing ever - I don't remember how we placed in that tournament.
What is your "home" course?
I have a few that I like to play in the Louisville area that I consider home - Covered Bridge, Champions Pointe, Charlie Vettiner.
What ball do you play?
Whatever's in the bag - usually ProV1's (since I find those all the time), but I've only bought Nike One Tour or One Platinum over the past year, and us those for tournament play.
Just upgraded irons to the Nike CCI Forged (from 1994 Ram FX Tour Grinds - classics)
Bought wedges this year 54/60 Titleist Vokey Spin Milled (from 52/58 Titleist Vokeys)
Titleist 906F2 15* 3-wood with V2 85g shaft
Titleist 905T 9.5 with V2 76g shaft
Titleist 585.H 19* hybrid S-300 shaft
Ram Tour Grind blade putter - Tom Watson
Everyone likes Tiger.
Also like Steve Stricker - Go ILLINI.
Kenny Perry is a local favorite now, and a really nice guy.
Favorite course you've played?
Tough call - Cog Hill Dubsdread probably, yes over Valhalla.
Dream course you've yet to play?
Pebble Beach, St. Andrews, Bandon Dunes, Pinehurst, too many...
Best round ever- and what course?
By score alone, I had a nice 37-33 = 70 at Covered Bridge at the end of Sept a few weeks back, but my 75 from the "US Open Black" tees at Olympia Fields was pretty sweet.
What is one aspect of your golf game you would like to improve on in the next year?
Birdies. I need to start converting more of these per round.
Tell me a story.
So I was at the BMW championship a couple weeks ago with a few buddies and we caught Lucas Glover and YE Yang on 18. Was pretty excited and shouted out some words of encouragement. Lucas gave me a huge fist pump, and YE just laughed his butt off. Little did I notice they were like 9 and 12 over. Whoops.

Good gracious Mark - I looked at that round you posted!!! You must be an engineer with that much detail!!! LOL
i love the tracking of your rounds. its like you can relive every moment. pretty cool.
Dude, you came home on the back 9 clean while polishing off a fifth of Jack?? Holy #$%^, i think you're my new hero.
80% finished, split with my buddy. Definitely had to grab dinner at the clubhouse before driving back.
so do you write down details on the course or do you just go off memory?
Very cool. I usually don't want to remember most of my shots. LOL
Man, Gotta love the detail... Now that's golf!
(Especially after the Jack, wow)
At the risk of being overly negative...There is not one single cool thing about polishing off a fifth of Jack and then driving back from the course. And there's no amount of dinner at the 19th that fixes that impairment. I would have to think you've never had the opportunity to work an accident scene where some poor sap or somebody's wife and kid were coming home for dinner and an instant later were annihilated by somebody driving under the influence. Poor decision. Great golf though.
I will start by saying i dont condone drunk driving even the slightest bit BUT...
Drinking 40% of a fifth of jack over 4 hours and then a say hour and a half dinner, waiting time, getting clubs in car, changing clothes, going to restroom, etc. i would say would be suffcient time in rendering me the ability to drive home. But thats just me...
