Your missing out on some cool charts...
Immanuel Moon a.k.a. immanuel
How old are you and what's your occupation?
32 and I sell textbooks to public school districts.

When did you start playing golf and what's your handicap?
I started playing when I was 22, but I started taking the game seriously last year. Actually, who am I kidding? When I play well then I'm taking the game seriously, and when I’m not…you know the rest. My current handicap is a 19.3. Before this website, I never bothered to keep track of my scores, so I don’t know if my current handicap is on the up or down.

How often do you play?
About 3 times a month.

Tell me about a great shot you've made.
I guess it would be the first shot that got me hooked on golf. I was using a 2 iron (Ben Hogan Director forged) off the tee, sliced it hard to the left, hit a tree and bounced back into the fairway. And that’s where the romance began.

What is your best golf memory?
When I was 22, I worked at high-end golf club with a few buddies. I was the golf cart boy, my buddy Gabe was the bartender, and my other friend Gary worked the pro shop. Gary would arrange the tee-time where there wasn’t another group ahead/behind us for hours, Gabe would provide the free alcohol, and I of course provided the fully charged carts. Good times.

What is your "home" course?
Los Verdes Golf Course

What ball do you play?
It varies. Currently I have over run Pro-V's. Can’t wait to use them.

Ping G10's.

Favorite pro?
Don't really have one. Being a lefty- I usually find myself rooting for Mickelson and Weir.

Favorite course you've played?
Eagle Glen

Dream course you've yet to play?
I believe it's called the Beijing Cascades. I heard you have a caddy and another attendant that wipes your shoes before and after each shot. The 2 attendants walk while you are chauffeured in the cart. That's awesome.

Best round ever- and what course?
88 at the Links at Victoria, but it is a really easy course.

What is one aspect of your golf game you would like to improve on in the next year?
Driving and putting. Among the people I know, it’s an unwritten law to get lessons, so realistically I’m hoping to lower my handicap by 1.

Tell me a story.
I'm assuming you want to read some kind of golf story, but I honestly don’t have one. What I'd like to see in your column is something in regards to dress attire on the course. Like when it is too much? Like is it too much if I wore a PING hat, Callaway/FJ polo, NIKE rain pants, while twirling around a Taylor Made umbrella? Or what about an argyle vest and a fedora? Is that wrong? I know its all in the art or marketing, but I'm surprised we haven't seen the oversized logos on golf pants.

love the great shot you made off the tree, been there done that! nothing better though? Here is mine, Short par 4 240 yards down wind 15mph+ hit my 3 hybrid to 5 feet missed what would have been my first eagle. I wear mismatching brands all the time, and was thinking the same thing.

Congrats on the GOW Immaunuel.
I'm with you and Banker - I'm an equal opportunity advertiser - Titleist hat or Addidas hat - Callway shoes, TaylorMade bag - Cobra Driver and woods, Maltby irons and Rife putter - I'm like the walking 'Land of Mis-fit Toys'

Congrats Immanuel; enjoy being named "Golfer of The Whenever-oob-feels-like-it".

You're right AB, that is one of the most terrifying profile pics ever! I couldn't help but shake my head and laugh.
Swingem says:
Yikes! Oh..and congrats.
joke329 says:
What a loser.
abek says:
Don't listen to what joke says, he's just jealous his profile pic doesn't look as good as yours. btw, i recommend losing the hat. cheers
gary feng says:
definitely twirling is a good idea..... especially with the TM umbrella.
falcon50driver says:
The mismatching of logo stuff doesn't bother me at all. What's really freaky, and I saw this at a charity scramble not long ago, is a guy with EVERYTHING MATCHING. Shoes, slacks, belt, shirt, hat, bag, clubs, glove, ball marker, balls, drink holder, sunglasses. The dude looked a little strange. Must have been a salesman, I didn't talk to him but everyone was pointing..
RSThunstrom says:
I apologize, but what is it that makes him the GOW? He's a hack who doesn't play and doesn't really seem interested in the game. "I guess it would be the first shot that got me hooked on golf. I was using a 2 iron (Ben Hogan Director forged) off the tee, sliced it hard to the left, hit a tree and bounced back into the fairway. And that’s where the romance began." Romance??? You play 3 times a month!!! A little disappointed here, that's all....
c5agalb says:
That photo is a little disturbing??
vja430 says:
Congrats on the GOW of the week.
eventHorizon says:
Why do we take pride in wearing gear that advertises for a company that we have no financial interest in whatsoever? Seems stupid to me. The guys on tour wear that stuff because they are paid to. I have to pay to wear it. I'd rather advertise my college team.
TheBrownCrayon says:
@RSThunstrom Really man?!?! The majority of golfers can't get out much more than 3 times a month, and most all are wildly average. I don't know if you noticed that this site is like 1938498300382873493982784930202 over par or not, but we are all weekend hackers.
immanuel says:
Thanks everyone for the kind words...except RSTHUNSTROM.

Apparently my GOW nomination really upsets you. You started your comment with "I apologize"...well apology NOT ACCEPTED.
sepfeiff says:
Congrats of GOW. Ow my eyes.
Swingem says:
Maybe we need a new posting for FIGJAM of the week?
Muscle-OchO says:
Congrats on the nomination -
My crazy attire of the day award goes to myself - One round I brought 2 different golf shoes - left foot was black, right foot was white.... I played it off like I was making a statement - However, the statement was - I'm a tool!
