I guess I believe his story...!
Your missing out on some cool charts...
Garrett Renner a.k.a. G.Renner
How old are you and what's your occupation?
I am 29 years old and currently work in Higher Education.
When did you start playing golf and what's your handicap?
I started playing golf as a 14 year old. After two years on the High School golf team I put the clubs away for 8 years due to commitments as a college athlete. Then I started playing again about 5 years ago. My current Handicap is currently 9.1.
How often do you play?
I try to play 2 to 4 rounds a month.
Tell me about a great shot you've made.
The best shot I ever hit was a 4 Iron on the par 5 4th hole at Bethpage Black. I was about 210 yards away landed the ball on the green and it trickled off the back to the collection area. I was just impressed that I was able to get to that green in two.
What is your best golf memory?
My best golf memory is of playing a round of golf with my Grandfather a few years ago on Thanksgiving weekend. This round was special because his rounds are very limited these days and it will most likely be the last round we get to play together.
What is your "home" course?
I play all of the local municipal courses but I would have to say Bethpage is my "home" course.
What ball do you play?
Currently I am playing the Nike One D but I also play the Taylormade TP Red LDP.
Titleist 909 D2 Driver, Titleist 906F2 3-Wood, Titleist 909H 19 degree hybrid, Titleist 704.CB Irons 3-PW, Titleist Vokey Chrome 52 & 58 degree wedges, Odyssey White Hot XG 2-Ball lined putter.

Favorite course you've played?
Montauk Downs - Montauk, NY
Dream course you've yet to play?
Shinnecock Hills - Shinnecock, NY
Best round ever- and what course?
I recently shot a 79 at Bethpage State Park Red course, this was my most satisfying round to date.
What is one aspect of your golf game you would like to improve on in the next year?
ACCURACY off the tee!
Tell me a story.
A couple of summers ago we got two foursomes together and headed out to Mill Pond golf course on Long Island. All morning we had noticed hot air baloons floating in the sky above the golf course. Once we made the turn one baloon got considerably lower. As we walked off of the 10th green the ballon had fallen so far that the basket was sitting in the pond that borders the 10th and 11th holes. The operator of the balloon must have gotten everything all straightened out and got the basket back in the air and continued to fly away without anyone getting hurt. Needless to say, it is something I will never see on a golf course again. I'll try to send some photos of the balloon sighting later tonight.

Scott Shields says:
This kid sounds like a typical pompous asshole from Long Island.
Gary is sooooooo good..
he defintely photoshoped that ballon in that picture.
What's pompous about it at all. Congratulations to anyone who's willing to put themselves out there and be profiled as an OOB golfer.
Matt F says:
Check his profile and see who his friends are. I'd expect the same response from one of mine! :)
My wedding reception was at Mill Pond GC, I would have loved to have seen that happen on my wedding day.

Steve Renner says:
Hey now, we have the same last name, about the same handicap and both played golf in high school. Weird. Except I'm a PING boy.
Way to go Garrett!!!...tool
