Your missing out on some cool charts...
Barry Cahoon a.k.a. bcahoon
How old are you and what's your occupation?
I am newly retired.
When did you start playing golf and what's your handicap?
I started playing when I was 16 back in Massachusetts. My present index is 9.1.
How often do you play?
I play at least twice a week with my buddies. I also spend about 10 to 12 hours practicing, which I find very enjoyable.
Tell me about a great shot you've made.
I recently hit a 5 wood out of a bunker 200 yards that finished 15 feet from the hole.
What is your best golf memory?
Playing the Prince course in Princeville, Kuaii, Hawaii
What is your "home" course?
There are so many wonderful courses in Central Florida that I could never restrict myself to one. Within 45 minutes of my home, there are at least 45 very high quality courses.
What ball do you play?
LOL, whatever I have in my bag. I am not good enough to worry about what type of ball I use.
I recently bought a set of Callaway Big Bertha 2004 irons. Before that I had Ping Eye 2's for 18 years. Driver is Cleveland as are my sand and lob wedges. I have Callaway 3 wood and 5 wood.
It has come to the point where if Tiger isn't playing a tournament, I don't enjoy watching.
Favorite course you've played?
The stadium course at The Players Club in Ponte Vedra.
Dream course you've yet to play?
There are 2 I want to play, Pebble Beach and the old course at St. Andrews.
Best round ever- and what course?
I shot a 73 on the Lake Buena Vista course at Disney World.
What is one aspect of your golf game you would like to improve on in the next year?
I am constantly working on my short game, chipping and putting.
Tell me something.
A lot of the enjoyment I have in this game is from playing with people I like. There have been any number of times we have told each other after a round that the company was better than the golf. Many of the guys I have known for years and we know enough not to take each other seriously. Once a year the leaders of the group put together a 4 day event somewhere in the US and collect 40 to 60 people from around the country to play a variety of wonderful courses. We have called the event the Neckbone Classic and we have played courses in Florida, San Diego, Las Vegas, Alabama and North Carolina. The next event is in San Antonio this May and we are all looking forward to it.

You will enjoy Texas golf. I'm sure you have the courses that you will play all planned, like The Quarry and La Canterra. I just wanted to tell you about Brackenridge Park. A great little municipal course very near downtown, overlooked by some, but very nice, winding through 200 year old oaks and several creek crossings. My Copilot and I run down there for 18 every time we fly the boss into San Antonio for a day trip. Be sure to eat at Boudreau's on the river too.
