Your missing out on some cool charts...
Jesse Hunt a.k.a. Banker85
When I asked Banker85 for a picture to go along with his golfer of the week profile, I was expecting to see him holding a pose on the tee. I died out laughing when I saw what he sent - what a great picture! I'm still trying to decide if I'd trust him with my money. Enjoy.
How old are you and what's your occupation?
26 years old and I am a Branch Manager at a Bank.
When did you start playing golf and what's your handicap?
I started playing when I started banking, so this will be my 4th serious golf season. HCP is about 11.
How often do you play?
I play about once a week right now. In the summer, I play about 2 times a week, maybe more if I go on company outings. Then it's back to about once a week come autumn.
Tell me about a great shot you've made.
The best shot I ever hit was during a scramble with my Boss and two clients I did not know very well, so naturally I was a little nervous. I was not playing very well. At the 6th hole, we had a 165 yard shot on a side hill with the ball well below my feet. I just hit it so clean and BAM(!)- bottom of the cup! It was my one and only hole out from the fairway.
What is your best golf memory?
My best golf memory has probably yet to come. I have a 2 1/2 year old son who I hope to create a lifetime of memories with on the golf course. But as of right now my best memory was when I was first starting to get serious and my wife would wake up at 5am and come to the course with me. She didn't play but we always had a lot of fun on the course!
What is your "home" course?
My home course has recently changed. I just moved into Illinois so right now it is Tuckaway Golf Course, I also enjoy newly renovated Pheasant Valley Country Club.
What ball do you play?
I play Noodle+ - TaylorMade - Golf Balls. I get them for free from work but I do like them. Good distance, and soft feel. If I am buying balls I get ProV1's for the pure awesomeness of them. The spin you get from a ProV1 is unmatchable by any other ball I've played.
Drivers: TaylorMade Tour Burner
Fairway Woods: TaylorMade Burner '07
Hybrids: TaylorMade Burner Rescue '07
Irons: TaylorMade rac LT 2005
Wedges: Nike SV Tour Satin Chrome
Putters: Odyssey White Hot XG 330
Tiger Woods, Dustin Johnson, Rickie Fowler, Martin Kaymer. Tiger is the best golfer I have ever seen and I cannot wait for him to break Jack's record. I will cry with joy when that day comes! The other guys are studs- Young, Great Attitudes, and Awesome Talents!
Favorite course you've played?
Favorite course I have played would have to be Olympia Fields Country Club. My Boss brought me as a guest a couple times. I'd never played a real country club private course before and it was fantastic. Service was great and the course was very, very nice.
Dream course you've yet to play?
Augusta. Pebble Beach. Golf Digest's Top 100, any of those would work!
Best round ever- and what course?
77, Oak Knoll Golf Club. This course is WIDE OPEN off the tee and short, so I ain't braggin' about the 77. I was just hitting fairways and greens all day. If I had made some putts, I could have easily shot par but my putting is WEAK!
What is one aspect of your golf game you would like to improve on in the next year?
I think I just answered that! PUTTING. I hate practicing putting, and I rarely hit the practice green before a round so I struggle on the course until I start to get the feel of the greens that day.
Tell me a story.
Well once upon a time, I was trying to find out lofts of my old irons so I started searching the web with no luck. Then something amazing happend... I found this website. I doubt if anyone has heard of it - oobgolf.com Ring a bell anyone? Ya, I didn't think so.
At first, I was just excited to be able to track scores and stats and get an (un)official handicap. Then I started to read the daily posts and Wedge Guy articles and reviews and giveaways, which were fun and informative. After a while I started to join in on the comments and after that I was hooked (addicted)!
I might have annoyed some people or made some laugh but all in all, I really enjoy the banter. I honestly reccommend this site to pretty much everyone I have played with since that day I was searching the web and came across this little gem! Thanks Guys!

Congrats of GOW. I envy your talents in that you only started 4 years ago. I've been playing for three and still hang around the 95 mark. It's great that your wife actually went out there with you. Mine hates that I wake her up at 7:30 on Saturdays.
Thanks! I think my golfing skills helped my career cause anytime we have outings I am usually asked to go and get face time with the Boss. And i dont let him win. sorry just cant do it.
Congrats onthe GOW Banker!
Sounds like you're starting off well, both on the course, on the family and in the career - cheers to you man!

Grats, Banker. I feel you with the wife and kid, got 2 of my own but trying to get out and play more. Nice mugshot, btw.

It is nice having a bit of background on the Oob regulars - thanks. I count on you and several others to make things interesting every day or so. Congrats on the GOW. And no one ever has to apologize for a 77.

There should be numbers under that photo banker! Turn to the right please Sir. LOL
The picture was used when I first became manager as an ad in the Local Chamber Directory. I got the call to be GOW and was at work and didnt have any other pic so i just scanned it in and wala! Prob the most handsome oober hands down, even through it looks like i was eating oreos.
Congrats Banker! I've had the same experience with oob. Started out looking for free handicap and stat tracking and got sucked in to the community. Now I recommend to any golfer I meet.
