No better way to keep the handicap at 25!
Your missing out on some cool charts...
Richard Purpura a.k.a. purparm
Rich has been playing golf for almost a year now- over in Japan. He just moved back stateside and needs some new courses to play. Based on the picture he provided- it looks like you won't be short entertainment!
How old are you and what's your occupation?
I'm 24 years old and work for Etology.com.
When did you start playing golf and what's your handicap?
I started playing around September 06, I am completely addicted now. Handicap: 25
How often do you play?
As often as possible. I usually can get in around 2-3 rounds a week.
Tell me about a great shot you've made.
Well, being a beginner, my great shots are pretty limited. I was behind a 4-foot mound that was alongside of the green. My plan was to just chip onto the top of the mound and have the ball roll onto the green, sure enough, it worked, and rolled right into the cup.
What is your best golf memory?
My buddy and I playing in absolutely horrible, cold, windy, and rainy weather, just because we wanted the leisure to practice different shots without holding anyone up behind us.
What is your "home" course?
It was Banyan Tree Golf Course, Okinawa, Japan. But since I just moved, I'll need to get a new one.
What ball do you play?
Anything that won't make me mad if I lose it.
Mizuno MX-17's, Ram Driver, and Rossa Mezza Monza Putter.
Living in Japan for the last 4 years has keeped my golf watching very limited. I guess it could be Ai Miyazato since she lived like 20 minutes from me.
Favorite course you've played?
Of the 2 I always play, I prefer Banyan Tree Golf Course.
Dream course you've yet to play?
Dai Fuji Golf Club. I think it's the one from Lost in Translation
Best round ever- and what course?
94. Banyan Tree Golf Course,
What is one aspect of your golf game you would like to improve on in the next year?
Consistancy! I would like everything to be "on" at the same time! Why is it that if I'm driving well, I can't putt? or vice versa??? Am I the only one?
Tell me a story.
The best drive of my life. It must've been 300 yards, pure luck. But unfortunately, there was a group right out there where my ball landed. I didn't think I could possibly hit that far, so that's why I teed off. Well, I didn't hit anybody in the group, but apparently they were a bit mad. And being the "tough" military guys that they were, they kicked my ball into the bushes.

Welcome Aboard ! Everyone who plays golf has had the experience of hitting a shot so pure that it rolls up amongst the foursome ahead. I think it has to do with trying to hit the ball easy so that it won't go that far. On a par 5, I hit a 265 yard second shot(probably longest shot of my life) which rolled across the hole where 4 bruisers were putting. I saw the jerk kick my ball off the green. I might have had a good number there....
