Your missing out on some cool charts...
Eric Johnsen a.k.a. H2Okie
This week's golfer resides in Blacksburg, VA. What I like about Eric is his confidence. He knows he hits the ball well, and knows where he needs to impove to get himself to single digits with his handicap. My guess is he will be there soon enough.

How old are you and what's your occupation?
33, Insurance Agent. (He's Your Good Neighbor)

When did you start playing golf and what's your handicap?
Started swinging short kiddie clubs very young, probably 4 or 5. Dad was a 3 or 4 handicap back in the day, so he had us out early on the driving range. First time on a course was probably middle school age. Handicap, oh man, I hit the ball like a single digit handicapper, but scores results make me a 15, I got to hit more greens.

How often do you play?
During the season I play 4-5 times a month, fortunately living in SW Virginia weather usually cooperates to play 10 months of the year, so I'll still get in a round our two a month in late fall and winter.

Tell me about a great shot you've made.
Just last week playing in a scramble, our tee shot is sitting next to the marker reading 288 to the back of the green, I hit a 3 wood 290 yards off the deck onto the green to get there in 2 on the #9 par 5 hole at The River Course. Left our team a 10 footer for Eagle, I missed the putt, but my teammate came through.

What is your best golf memory?
Thanksgiving 1994 playing with my Dad, Uncle and Grandfather at my grandfather's club, Essex Fells CC in NJ. Walking 18 with Caddies, generations of family, it was cool.

What is your "home" course?
Without being a member I play Blacksburg CC a lot, will join next year, working the pool angle with my wife.

What ball do you play?
Nike Platinum with a State Farm logo.

Ping I3 Irons, Titlist 905S Driver, Titlist 980 15 degree Strong 3 wood, Calloway Heavenwood 3 Hybrid, Ping Zing G2I putter

Favorite pro?
Arnold Palmer, because my dad does, now Tiger, domination is great.

Favorite course you've played?
Nemacolin's Mystic Rocks (84 Lumber Open course), and Stonehaven at Glade Springs

Dream course you've yet to play?
I've been fortunate to travel a lot with work, I've played a lot of nice places, but I have to go with Augusta National.

Best round ever- and what course?
84 at Hanging Rock, 4 or 5 years ago, I play even par on the backside of Virginia Tech's old 18 hole course, today there are only 9 holes due to campus expansions.

What is one aspect of your golf game you would like to improve on in the next year?
GIR, I can drive and putt, got to work on flight line and landing on the greens

Tell me a story.
I separated my shoulder playing golf, yes, 15 years old, growing like a sprout, 6'2" 150 lbs, swung the driver, shoulder followed, fell to the ground landed on the shoulder that was out of place and it popped back into place, hurt like Heck, finished the round. Learned to keep my arms and body together in the swing motion.

Ummm... Ouch!
