Your missing out on some cool charts...
Douglas Fordham a.k.a. BradFaxonHero
Our Golfer of The Week Doug Fordham loves Brad Faxon. The only answer I didn't extract from him is why that is. Nonetheless- another great GOW.
How old are you and what's your occupation?
I am 19 years old, and I am a student at James Madison University.
When did you start playing golf and what's your handicap?
I started playing golf when I was five years old. My current handicap is a 20.
How often do you play?
I try to play once a week, but when the money is tight the in between time is a bit longer.
Tell me about a great shot you've made.
The best shot I've made is when I sank a 25 footer to make birdie. The putt had everything; down hill, sloping left, and the ball just went in. I was so happy I forgot to stick the flag back in the hole.
What is your best golf memory?
A great golf memory of mine i when my neighbor Jeff and I were playing. He was about 125 yards out, and did "The Happy Gilmore" shot. Needless to say, the ball ended up in the hole somehow. We still talk about that one on the links.
What is your "home" course?
My home course is Heron Glen Golf Course, located in Ringoes, New Jersey.
What ball do you play?
I play Ti Tech Beta Ti's, although I have been known to cough up some dough for a nice Pinnacle or Callaway ball.
My driver and fairway woods are Callaway Steelhead III. I have a Nike CPR hybrid iron. I play Callaway X-14 Pro Series Irons, and my putter is a TourEdge T-Balance.
My favorite pro is Brad Faxon.
Favorite course you've played?
The course that I liked the most was Pine Hill, located in Southern New Jersey.
Dream course you've yet to play?
The one course that I'm dying to play would have to be Pebble Beach. Nothing else like it.
Best round ever- and what course?
The best round I ever shot was an 83 at Heron Glen Golf Course.
What is one aspect of your golf game you would like to improve on in the next year?
One thing I would love to improve in my golf game would be hitting my three and five woods. They give me the biggest headaches out on the course.
Tell me a story.
I was playing recently with my friends Greg and Jonathan at Hillsborough Country Club. We were on the third hole, which was a par 5. I was on the green in regulation, while Greg was chipping for double bogey. I walked over to the pin saying, "Greg, I will tend this, seeing how you are going to chip this in." Greg hit his shot, which was about 15 yards away, and it dropped right into the hole. Greg couldn't thank me enough for the rest of that round!
